Drawing The Avatar
Now we’ll start adding details to the head. First, Aang’s arrow. Use the pen tool to trace the shape of the arrow, convert it to a selection and then fill it with #8ba9c5.

Next, do the eyebrows, nose, chin, outline the eyes and the detail in the ears. Do this by drawing the individual paths on their own paths layer and the stroking them all at once.

Next, we’ll go in and fill in the eyebrows and the inner ear. We’ll just do this with a small paint brush (note, that inner ear is #d89d70).

Next, using the elliptical marquee tool and some careful brushwork, let’s fill in the whites of the eyes. Put the white circles on a new layer until you’re done with them, so you can easily erase any parts that overlap the black outlines. Then hit Ctrl+E to merge it with the rest of the head layer.

Next, we’ll trace the outline of the mouth with the pen tool and draw the inner eyes with the elliptical marquee tool. Aang’s eyes are a very dark grey, so fill them with #363636 and then give them a 1px black stroke. Convert the path for the mouth to a selection and fill it with black.
