Creating A Cartoon Flower

Now let’s finish the flower off by creating a leaf. Once again, grab your pen tool and draw the leaf shape. Use the same technique of holding down shift when you create/drag anchor points to create a symmetrical shape.

Ctrl+Click on the leaf and fill it with the same light green you used for the stem. Once again, give it the 2px black stroke.

Use your polygonal lasso tool to select the bottom half of the leave (following its angle) and then go to Image - Adjustments - Variations. Click “Darker” four times.

Finally, to finish off the flower, I duplicated the newly created leaf, went to Edit - Transform - Flip Horizontal and then moved it over to the other side of the stem.
