Now we need to create the center of the flower. Create a new layer and call it “center” or… whatever the center part of a flower is actually called. J

Now take your elliptical marquee tool and create a circle the size that you want for the center of your flower Fill it with the desired color, and give it the same 2px center black stroke that we did the petals. Finally, drag it to the center of your flower.

Our flower is looking pretty good. Let’s finish it off by creating a little stem. Go to the Layers palette and click on the background layer to make ti active. Now create a new layer and call it “stem.” It should be below all of the other layers we’ve made. Grab the rectangular marquee tool and draw your stem. Fill it with a medium green (I’m using #a0da2b). Again, give it the same 2px black stroke that we’ve used on everything else.

Now create another new layer and select a darker green (like #274d00). With the selection still active, fill it with the new dark green. Now hit Ctrl+Alt+D to bring up the Feather Selection dialog. Enter an amount of three, click OK and then hit Delete. Finally, hit Ctrl+E to merge it with the “stem” layer.
